Oregon Media accepts editorial submissions under the guidelines detailed below.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
RIGHTS AND USAGE.
By virtue of this agreement, Oregon Media, LLC (Bend Magazine and other properties of Oregon Media, LLC) buys all rights and electronic rights to the work described herein. Oregon Media, LLC does not buy temporary usage of an Article unless otherwise noted. Article may be used by Oregon Media, LLC for editorial purposes other than the listed assignment. Writer does not have the right to authorize publication of that editorial to any form of media (including Facebook, Twitter, photo websites) without the written consent of Oregon Media, LLC.
WARRANT OF ORIGINALITY.
Writer represents and warrants to Oregon Media, LLC that he or she is the sole creator of the Article and has the unimpaired right to convey to Oregon Media, LLC the Rights described in this agreement. The Writer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Oregon Media against any claim, demand, lawsuit or proceeding that might be brought against Oregon Media by reason of any of the following matters regarding the Article: a) any violation or infringement of any proprietary right or copyright of any institution or individual(s); b) any libelous or unlawful matter contained in the Article; c) any invasion of the rights of privacy or other personal rights possessed by any person or entity, including illegal trespass by the writer while on location for an Article; d) writer’s breach of any term, covenant, representation or warranty of this agreement; e) anything whatsoever that might prejudice the securing Oregon Media or his assignees of the full benefit of rights herein granted. In the event of any legal proceeding related to the above-referenced Article, Writer agrees to fully cooperate with Oregon Media, LLC in the defense thereof by counsel selected by Oregon Media, LLC.
ARTICLE REQUIREMENTS
Article will be submitted by on or before the deadline described herein by email to the Oregon Meida Editor. All submissions should be single-spaced, Times New Roman and with contact emails and phone numbers at the bottom of the Article. Please use only one space after periods.
DELIVERY
Articles should be emailed to the delivery address above. Oregon Media, LLC does not accept printed submissions.
EDITING
Writer agrees to work with Editor on requested changes.
KILL FEE
A kill fee of 30% of the fee will be paid to Writer within 30 days after intended publication date if the Editor determines that the Article did not adequately fulfill the assignment.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Writer agrees to keep confidential all details of the assignment, except people germane to his/her reporting until the Article has been published. This includes no reference of his/her work on Twitter, Facebook or other social media until the Article has been published.
PAYMENT
Please send an invoice to ovyyvat@bertba-zrvqn.pbz promptly upon completion of assignment to ensure prompt payment. Payment fee (as listed above) for accepted Article is made within 30 days following publication date. The fee is the total amount to be paid. No other costs will be paid unless approved in writing by Oregon Media, LLC.
FUTURE USE
Oregon Media, LLC has full rights to republish the Article under any of its properties, both web and print. A fee of $.15 per originally published word will be paid to the Writer for reprints on websites and print publications that are different than the original publication but still within the Oregon Media, LLC family
FUTURE USE EDITING
Oregon Media, LLC will conduct due diligence to ensure up-to-date content will be printed. In most cases, any revisions or additional content will be completed by Oregon Media staff.
CONDUCT
Oregon Media, LLC relies on the professionalism and expertise of the Writer to conduct himself or herself in accordance with the highest professional manners at all times when representing Oregon Media, LLC, including Bend Magazine or any properties of Oregon Media, LLC.
